Benson Fire Department proudly protects 8000 people living in an area of 21.6 square miles. We operate out of one station that protects a primarily residential and commercial area with some major industrial sites. We have an ISO rating of 5/9s.
Our department consists of 35 paid/volunteer members, and one full time paid fire engineer.

Training
Benson Firefighters are required to maintain 36 training hours a year as required by the Department and state. Firefighter Trainies are required to obtain all 10 NFPA 1403 required classes for interior structural firefighting within 1 year of membership.
